Class Descriptions
Flow – This is the predominant style offered by The Holistic Way. Flow is a fluid practice that links breath and movement. Each class is unique and taught from an intuitive, compassionate place with the inspiration being the needs of the individuals present. Within a Flow class, students will be encouraged to stay connected with their breath to help move from one pose to the next, and during poses as means of helping to let go, be more present, and surrender. This practice will open and tone the body, bring calm and quiet to the mind, and allow the entire being to feel clarity, blissful, and a connected to the deep healing benefits of this ancient practice.
Deep/Restorative – A deeply therapeutic and highly relaxing yoga practice. Experience deep stretching and effortless prop-supported poses to unwind and release stress and tension. This practice will leave you feeling open and rejuvenated and cultivate a deep sense of quietness and calm for the body, mind, and spirit.
Classical Hatha – Essentially a gentler version of a Flow class. This practice is stress releasing and meditative. It energizes and tones the body, mind and spirit as it cultivates greater fitness, physical detoxification, balance, strength, mental focus, breath awareness, and a sense of well-being.
Ashtanga – Developed and taught by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. Ashtanga is a powerful flowing practice in which 72 postures flow into one another as a means of building internal and external heat. This vigorous practice is ideal for those who seek to challenge their body, mind and spirit, and don’t mind working up a healthy sweat.
