Kids’ Yoga

Yoga comes so naturally to children and it’s amazing how intuitively they absorb the benefits of the practice. Like us, our children feel the ever-building stress and pressure of life – homework, after-school activities, and over-scheduling all adds up! Having Yoga in school and accessible to young people in the community is imperative.

Along with all the physical benefits of developing strength, flexibility, endurance, and co-ordination, Yoga provides significant mental and emotional benefits. It helps balance moods, improve focus, cultivate self-discipline, improve co-operative skills, foster respect for self and others, and build self-confidence and self-expression.

The birth of Catherine’s son, in 2008, inspired her interest in sharing the practice of Yoga with young people. Since the spring of 2009, she has had the opportunity of sharing her love of Yoga with the girls at St. Clements School. She has worked with students in grades 1 through to 12. She is continually impressed with how much this practice benefits the girls, and is inspired by the fresh perspective and inspiration these young people bring to the practice. Catherine is pleased to able to continue her work with the girls at St. Clements School and looks forward to continuing to help make a difference in these young people’s lives.

Catherine is pleased to team up with Dana Chapman, a yoga instructor & long-time TDSB teacher, to offer Live Brightly Kids’ Yoga Camp. Please refer to YOGA WORKSHOPS, RETREATS and EVENTS to learn more.
